Kane Vincent’s ‘Crazy Love (Drive Me Sane)’ - The Love Song He Didn’t Know He Needed
Kane Vincent’s new single 'Crazy Love (Drive Me Sane)' is more than just a catchy tune - it’s a heart-on-sleeve confession and a moment of healing wrapped up in melody. Written alongside ARIA Award-winning songwriter Kevin Bennett, the track captures the wild, unpredictable, and ultimately grounding power of love.
“I wasn’t ready to write a love song,” Kane admits. “I’d been writing breakup songs and lonely man songs. Kevin wanted to write a love song. He said, why don’t we write a love song about love? About how giving in to that crazy love can be the most healing part.”
What started as a reluctant writing session quickly became something much deeper. Building on a melody Kane had been playing around with, the pair crafted a song that feels both personal and universal. “It was about letting go - letting something else take the wheel,” Kane explains. “We ended up writing a love song to love itself.”
And then, life did what it does best, it surprised him. “It was six or eight months before I met my partner,” Kane says. “But it was as if Crazy Love (Drive Me Sane) manifested her into my life.”
The track closes out Kane’s debut album Spotfires and Second Wives, released back in September. The album is one that celebrates survival, renewal, and the moments that define who we become.
“It’s got that feeling that you’ve just been through a storm,” Kane says. “You step outside afterward, and the air feels fresh and new. When I played this song, I stopped being angry. It put a full stop at the end of the grieving.”
Turning 50 inspired Kane to finally record a full-length album, a milestone gift to himself. Teaming up with multi-instrumentalist and producer Liam Kennedy-Clark, the two created a record that showcases Kane’s range and depth as a songwriter.
“My goal was to show what I can do,” Kane says. “There’s traditional country, alt-country Americana, and even a few bluesy tracks. I’ve never really fit into one box.”
The album features earlier singles Spotfires (a tribute to mateship); Sarah (a reminder to embrace sadness to appreciate joy); and Know Me Now (a song about walking away when that’s the only way forward). Backing vocals from Kelly Brouhaha and Jen Mize, and drums from Mik McCartin, round out the sound beautifully.
Fresh from performing at the iconic Gympie Music Muster in August, Kane is taking the album on the road with upcoming shows at Dayz On The Sand - formerly Country on Keppel (Great Keppel Island), and next year's Tamworth Country Music Festival.
With Crazy Love (Drive Me Sane), Kane Vincent proves that sometimes the best way to find peace is to give in to a little bit of crazy love.
